For all those who share my love of great typography or those who are just interested in learning all there is to know about fonts, http://www.typedia.com is a great website to check out. Typedia is “a resource to classify, categorize, and connect typefaces.”
You can search for type faces by style, name, designer, and more. The site also has forums, blogs and more. It’s your one-stop shop for learning about typography.
For those who are interested in learning about the different parts that make up a font, I’m including a link to a graphic I made last year that shows just that. Enjoy!
Hey, I am new to running a blog and websites in general and
was curious about how you got the “www” included in your domain name?
I see your domain name, “http://jessicatuckermarketing.wordpress.com/2013/08/09/websites-you-ought-to-know-2-typedia/” has the
www and my domain looks like, “http://mydomain.com”.
Do you know exactly how I can alter this? I’m using WordPress. Thank you very much

Hi Hershel! For most websites (and blog domains) the “www” part is implied, so you can just type in the address with or without the “www.” and it should work work either way. For example I can type in “www.jessicatuckermarketing.wordpress.com” or just “jessicatuckermarketing.wordpress.com” and they both go to my blog. Are you using a wordpress domain (ex. [www.]mysite.wordpress.com) or did you purchase your own domain? If you’re using just a wordpress domain then the “www.” probably won’t show up (it doesn’t on mine); if you’re using your own domain then you should contact WordPress or your server host about changing it. Check out some of these support forums, and see if they help:

Hope this helps!

I do not know if it’s just me or if perhaps everyone else encountering issues with your blog. It appears as if some of the text on your posts are running off the screen. Can somebody else please provide feedback and let me know if this is happening to them too? This might be a problem with my web browser because I’ve
had this happen previously. Many thanks

With havin so much written content do you ever run into any issues of plagorism or copyright infringement?
My site has a lot of completely unique content I’ve either created myself or outsourced but it looks like a lot of it is popping it up all over the internet without my permission. Do you know any ways to help prevent content from being ripped off? I’d really appreciate it.

That’s a good question! My blog is fairly new, so I haven’t spent a lot of time looking online to see if someone has plagiarized anything I’ve written. Unfortunately, there aren’t any ways of completely preventing someone from plagiarizing your work. There are some methods you can use to make it harder for someone to do so though. For instance, on all of your original pictures you can watermark them so that if someone copies and pastes it somewhere it will still have your copyright information on the picture. When you edit a picture before posting it on the web you can also edit the pic’s “metadata,” which basically tells all the original copyright information, but again, it’s not 100% foolproof. Text can be a bit trickier though. Some sites use Tynt, which is an online service that inserts a citation and web location of any text that you copy and paste from a website that uses this service. Again, though, there are ways of working around it. Most people will be deterred from copying something if they can’t just do it instantly, so you might want to try some of the things I’ve listed. I hope this helped!
